Here, medical students and residents alike can share their knowledge, research, and clinical pearls on orthopaedic surgery cases. This will serve as a resource for frequent consults and management plans in orthopaedic surgery. All posts will be
peer-reviewed prior to publication. You will receive a confirmation email, and if your case is selected for peer-review, you will be notified with the exact timeline of publication.
Instructions:
- Include a short clinical vignette using the following structure: ID, CC, PMHx, HPI, P/E, Imaging & Labs, Impression, & Plan.
- Including imaging (XR, CT, MRI) is highly encouraged.
- Following the vignette, discuss clinical pearls of the cases (i.e., history-taking, physical exam, imaging interpretation, etc.) and different management strategies.
- Ensure the text is fully blinded
- Include a catchy title (limited to
10 words)
- Include a short synopsis of the topic discussed (limited to
50 words)
- Text word count does not exceed
1000 words (including the synopsis but not the references)
- Include captions for all figures/tables
- Limit of 8 figures or tables
- Manuscript has been 'spell checked' and 'grammar checked'
- Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet)
- There should be no identification of patients
- A competing interests statement is provided, even if the authors have no competing interests to declare
- All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
- References should be formatted using AMA 11th ed (including the DOI)
